WELL

Workforce Education & Lifelong Learning

Don't have a high school diploma yet? The WELL program supports students who are ready to accomplish their academic and workforce goals. The program helps community learners gain 21st Century skills in technological society while striving and accomplishing academic success.

Classes are designed to provide flexible, diverse and quality instruction to meet the goals and needs of adult learners who are students, parents, workers, and citizens. A blended model of classes allows students to attend face-to-face classes, register for distance learning classes, and prepare for employment with case management support. Temple University students tutor adults who have earned the opportunity through attendance and academic progress.

In order to be successful, WELL students need to be:

  • Highly Determined
  • Self-Motivated
  • Self-Managed
  • Possess a Basic Understanding of Computer Skills

Funder

Our work is made possible thanks to the support of Pennsylvania Department of Education / Division of Adult Education.  The Division of Adult Education administers federal and state adult basic and family literacy funds. Adult basic and family literacy education programs funded by the Division of Adult Education provide a full range of services that support Pennsylvanians in developing basic skills that are necessary to participate fully in the education of their children, find and keep family-sustaining employment, or obtain a high school equivalency credential. The Division of Adult Education also oversees high school equivalency testing in Pennsylvania, and provides professional development for adult education and family literacy program staff, including training for volunteer tutors of adult education.
