We accomplish our goals through service, education, research, and advocacy. LCCWP was established at the beginning of 2021 Temple Leadership, which consolidated all the community-facing programs under the Vice President’s Office for Public Affairs into one center. Despite the new name, the programs under LCCWP have been serving the community for decades, with many beginning as early as 1969. Today, LCCWP houses 15 different programs serving over 2,000 participants annually. LCCWP programs focus on adult literacy, workforce development, positive youth development, and community capacity building.

Some of LCCWP’s signature programs include the Workforce Education and Lifelong Learning (WELL) Program, Community Health Worker Training Program, Lenfest North Philadelphia Workforce Initiative (LNPWI), Temple University E3 Program, Temple University COVID-19 Trauma-Informed Workforce Initiative, PHA CARES, Achieving Independence Center, New Choices Career Development Program, and Youth Employment Project.

While LCCWP serves communities across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the majority of its programs focus on serving Philadelphia with a special focus on serving residents living in the eight zip codes surrounding the University: 19121, 19122, 19123, 19125, 19130, 19132, 19133, and 19140.

Additionally, LCCWP places a high priority on serving populations who have been historically underserved and/or excluded from the workforce including opportunity youth, adults without a high school diploma, returning citizens, English-language learners, immigrants, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
